please bear with me...
the next few posts will be catch up posts from trips to austin and arizona.
these photos were taken in austin, texas.  sam and i had a set design job a few weeks back.  we fell in love with austin.  on this day we were running around south congress, shopping like mad for distressed metal signs, taxidermy, antique mason jars, vinyl, old mixed tapes and whatever else looked interesting.
we took a break from shopping for a little exploring.
everything was so lush and beautiful on this residential block that i had to hop out of the cargo van for some good old fashion down home trespassing- all for the sake of an outfit post.

these are the last photos from our nyc trip back in november.  this was a beautiful play date for us.  it was pouring with rain and awfully chilly. we stayed nearly all day at the museum  exploring upside mushrooms, listening to singing birds, riding merry go rounds, sliding down swirly slides, and watching colorful baby animals rest their sleepy heads.
hurry!
if you live in new york, you must:
get dumplings at vanessa's dumpling house
and then go to the new museum for hours of sensory delight.
the carsten höller. exhibit will run through january 22.

YOUREE OLIVER

the reason for my extended absence from this blog is because
i lost my dad.
youree t. oliver passed away on thursday december 22, 2011.

my heart has been broken.
but i have faith in it's ability to mend through the love i feel from my family, friends
and my beautiful, incredible, kind- hearted husband, sam.
this new year and all the rest of the years that i live,
i vow to express my love for others as often as possible.
i vow to communicate my feelings in hope of healing and growth.
and... please call your mother and father and begin a new relationship this day.
no matter what the nature of your relationship, when you lose a parent it will turn you inside out.

we ended up in a hush hush basement bar with no drink menu only a fruits, veggies and herbs list to choose from. you pick your favorite combination and they decide the spirit.  we met some hilarious people and laughed all night about very serious matters.

hivenn (blog crush for sure)

oh,jazzy jazzerson elizabeth coxington...

i really like this girl.
her blog is total fucking chills down the spine.
it dreamscapes me something fierce.
it's subtle...
but whenever i spend time in hivenn
i feel like i have entered a pagan carnival
run by woodland creatures
 art directed by david lynch
with a score by björk.
you should love her long time.

los angeles is rather blustery.
the power is out. all hell has most certainly broken loose.
angelenos are frantically fighting for wifi at every open coffee shop.
trees are down in the road and often suspended and entangled in power lines.  orgies of palms create curbside walls, branches and parked car's windshields are fully engaged in a very non-consensual coitus.  its like andy goldsworthy gone urban disaster rogue guest directed by michel ricaud.
somehow, i found a seat at one of the few open starbucks.
finally tapping into my schedule, it looks like i will be very busy for the next few weeks working on various shoots.  i will try to post as much as possible during the craziness.
thanks for visiting me.
