this is sort of an outfit post...

many of my outfits are fairly casual compared to other bloggers.

i guess i lead a somewhat casual lifestyle.

i like to get dirty.

i don't always change into platforms to get the perfect blog post.

i figure there are probably other people who enjoy this rugged lifestyle.

the spontaneous tree climb,  fishing trip, DIY house remodel, garden day, roll in the grass with dogs...

these things are more novel to me than brunch at the chateau marmont followed by hours of shopping at barneys.

don't get me wrong- those things are fun on occasion.

but my life is just a bit grittier.

i met up with some fellow bloggers for lunch and tea at casbah.

gorgeous girls, sabella of bravegrrl and tessa of apparellel. 

we spent a lovely afternoon trying to plan a clothing swap.  

i'm hoping to host one at my house in mid july.  

i would love for any so cal girls to email me if interested.

 of course we were sidetracked with talk of diy projects, love and travel. 

i could have easily spent hours more with these girls.  

later i met with my incredibly beautiful and stylish friend, nathan of etsy store, the quiet color.

he has a variety of handpicked vintage pieces for women that you should check out.

later we hit up a bbq/movie night.

i love summer days like these.

soon after, these beauties arrived in the mail.

this is what i wore to run a few errands around town.

i'm crushing pretty hard on these boots.

they are so lightweight.

the contrast stitching gives the otherwise tough boot a pretty edge. 

i love the rich color and the fabric peeping over the top.

they are working all kinds of magic with my champagne theory blouse.

when i returned home 

i played dress up and discovered that they also look pretty rich with my red pieces.

these are the last of the photos from our yurt/fishing trip.

it was very windy and chilly in the mornings and evenings.

i didn't wear most of the outfits i planned on shooting for the blog.

we did have a blast just wearing our comfy faves while cooking and playing with the dogs.

i brought tapestries, flags and candles to decorate the yurt.

we listened to music at night and sipped ginger beer.

we took walks while bats flitted around us.

we spied a bobcat.

we choked on stars.

we cuddled and kissed.

sometimes you just have to live in the moment, laugh a ton and enjoy the love.
