i brought my mom to lacma to see the in wonderland.
the exhibition is a beautiful display of women surrealist art  from the early 1930s to the late 1960s.
it is so relevant and powerful that i fell deep, deep into the many worlds they created.
it sounds corny but i cried a little when i stood inches away from frida kahlo's paintings. 
and i couldn't claw my way into remedios varo's world fast enough.
i honestly cannot tell you how charged i felt there.  
if you live in southern california, you have to go.

here i am at one of our favorite prop houses, History For Hire.
we came here to rent props for an print ad and ended up playing a bit while our order was written up.  i usually hit up the prop houses solo, but today sam joined me.
it can get pretty cold in these warehouse so i dress in layers if i am shopping.

i have been trying to get rid of clutter.  color coding my closets, going through boxes of love letters, clothes, shoes, bags- it's endless.
i found these boots in a box of 1990s clothing and shoes.  i loved wearing these!
they give massive height.  they sort of remind me of the unif hellbound boots. i found a few more stack athletics that will soon be cool again.  they are almost there.
this jacket is amazing. my rad aunt gave it to me a few years ago.  it is super tough/difficult to wear in but i like the shiny new sparkle it gleams.  i still have a dozen or so boxes left. i have been donating things to out of the closet thrift stores and goodwill.  i'm thinking about trying to connect a store to my blog for the items that are like new that i have barely worn.  seems like a lot of work but i might be up for it...

this is what i wore to work. i always dress super casual for work.
my job entails lots of heavy lifting,
running around, loading trucks, rigging stuff on ladders-
you name it. comfort is very important.
 we shot in Venice!
we were on the boardwalk, on random streets with beautiful graffiti,
on the beach- all over.
it was a celebrity shoot so the paparazzi were in full on dick stalker mode. ewww...
i cannot say who the celebs were but two of them were from my favorite shows!  it was fun to hang out and giggle with them as they rode around on our old school ice cream bike carts and roller-skates on the boardwalk.

we have been working on making new sitting areas in the garden. this is our "pot garden"  i collect pots, and we finally figured out a place to display all of them.  it also happens to be our new favorite tea and coffee drinking spot.
tomorrow we will put gravel over the dirt to clean it up.
i'm wearing one of my favorite dresses.  it is incredibly body conscious but also very forgiving. so slinky and comfortable...
the only flaw is that it is quite tapered at the ankles.when i wear it, i must prepare for very slow walking.
probably a good lesson.
take it easy.
